Our Story

Why Kairos?

Genesis
Kairos was planted as a fellowship of believers gathered to comfort the broken, heal the scarred, and love the unloved through the love of Jesus Christ. Our journey began on November of 2021 as we gathered to worship in Carrollton, TX. As an independent church plant without any backing from denominations or churches, we prayerfully sought God’s will and depended on Him alone.
Name & Purpose
Kairos is the transliteration of the Greek word, καιρός, meaning “God’s appointed time” or “opportune moment.” For such a time as this, our mission is to be all things to all people through the love and truth of Jesus Christ.
For the broken, we want to be a place of comfort through the embrace of the Son.
For the scarred, we want to be a place of healing through the counsel of the Spirit.
For the unloved, we want to be a place of encountering the unfailing love of the Father.
For the image bearer (YOU), we want to be a place where you will be seen, heard, and treasured.

Trauma
Too many have been dehumanized by religious institutions disguised as “church.”
Too many have been spiritually abused and manipulated.
Too many have been discriminated against and marginalized.
Racism, sexism, classism, and injustice have been rampantly celebrated and disturbingly excused in and by the church.
We refuse to be complicit nor silent.

Kairos
For such a time as this, we believe God is moving hearts to do something about it.
We lament, grieve, and repent of houses of God without the heart of God.
We heal and hope in our Savior and Deliverer.
An unwavering conviction in biblical orthodoxy and an undying compassion in gospel-driven orthopraxy is how we are prayerfully navigating this God-appointed season.

Hope
We dare to dream of being inter-ethnic, inter-generational, and inter-cultural.
We dare to dream of being a church where empathy is greater than sympathy and compassion is our passion.
We dare to dream of being a church where people can be who they are without fear and without fear be held accountable to be more like Christ.
We dare to dream of being Gospel-rooted, Gospel-centered, and Gospel-driven in who we are, what we believe, and what we do.

Invitation
So please, come as you are...really. You are invited to dare to dream or simply rest and heal with us.

God loves you, and we do too.
